The News with James Barcus
CBS News and other media sources reporting at 10:00PM Eastern Time that George Zimmerman has been acquitted of the murder charges in the Trayvon Martin case. Jury came back with a Not Guilty Verdict after 14 hours of deliberations.
The Trial that had ups and downs, along with heated moments between Judge Debra Nelson and Zimmerman’s attorney Don West, has finally come to an end. The Jury of 6 women were polled after the verdict was delivered and all of them gave a unanimous decision.
Outside the courthouse, two distinct groups did gather as the verdict was being deliberated for a second day after getting it on Friday Afternoon. They recessed for the night and returned to work this morning.
The Criminal case, as it stands now, is at an end, but the Court of Public Opinion has a different take and it likely will not be over for some time.
